Journal Entry #3

my research question is: how has the evolution of communication technology changed the way that people think, act, and communicate, with one another? for this topic i will research several forms of communication technology that has evolved over the years, from radio, and satellite communication, to email, and instant messaging. my question is reachable. my reason for wanting to research this subject is that i find communication technology fascinating, and i would like to, in detail, take a look at how it has effected us as a people.

Journal Entry Number 2

The subculture I chose to write about is a tennis subculture in Florida. This subculture qualifies all of the questions that where asked of me when choosing a subculture. This subculture is accessible to me, I can visit the places that they gather, it interests me because I have family, and friends involved within this subculture, and most importantly, to qualify, I am not involved in this subculture. They have a group identity, there teams, they have objects, there tennis gear, they have rituals, they have all of the requirements necessary for me to write about this subculture.

Essay Topic (entry 1)

For my essay topic I chose to write about a equine competition that I rode in. let me give you a little outline of my topic. This event took place in Georgia. For me it was one of the defining moments of greatness it my life. In the essay I'm going to talk about all of the hard work and training and events that lead up to this show, and how they played and important part in the end result. Figuring out a topic to initially choose was a challenge for me because I was unsure of what I wanted to write about. After a lot of thinking, and a few good suggestions I came to the conclusion to write about my experience at the horse show I competed at in Georgia. One of the initial challenges was picking a topic that I could write about for more than one page, I think I have solved that problem with the topic that I have selected for this essay assignment. In this essay I hope to work though the all of the events prior to the show that where significant in relation to the event, and perhaps even the effects the event has had on my life in present time. My goal with this essay is to explore the event, and how it affected me as a human being. My questions about my topic would be: did this event change me in a fundamental way. If so, how and why. In the true definition of an essay, I will attempt to uncover the answers to these questions, as I reflect upon my experiences.

Introduction

Hello my name is Cameron Accola. I am 18 years old, and I live in Windermere Florida. I love to play the Bass guitar. I like to ride horses, I have a horse named Charlie. I have traveled to many places in the United States as well as some places outside of the country such as Ireland, Brazil, and Nova Scotia (Canada).

I enrolled in English composition class because it is required, but thats not the answer you want to hear. So I enrolled in English composition to further my writing skills. I would have to say that I feel confident in my ability to put my thoughts onto paper. As of now the writing (if you can call it that) that I primary like to do now mostly has to do with posting in online forums that pertain to musicians, more specifically bassists. I would have to say that a big influence on my writing would have to Mark Twain; his style, and techniques coincide with how I write, and how I like to approach writing. With all this talk of writing I think its important for me to talk about reading. I like to read allot of informational material, usually I read about what ever im curious about. If im curious about the human brain, then ill go look it up and read about it. I also enjoy fictional stories. Well thats all for now! Thanks for reading :)
